Founder & CEO · Motherhood Center
Houston’s most trusted pregnancy and newborn specialist, guiding families through life’s most transformative moments since 2000.
Gabriela Gerhart is the founder of Motherhood Center, a Houston-based pregnancy, postpartum, and family wellness center she established in 2000.
Born and raised in a small village in the Czech Republic, Gabriela’s passion for families and caregiving began early and evolved into a lifelong calling rooted in community, connection, and compassionate support.
With a background in Pediatric Nursing and Physical Therapy, and early experience working in a pediatric emergency room, Gabriela later moved to the United States as an au pair — an experience that revealed a critical gap in support for pregnant women and new mothers. That insight became the foundation for Motherhood Center, which now offers comprehensive services including nanny placements, newborn care specialists, doulas, education classes, prenatal and postpartum therapies, exercise programs, and breastfeeding support. To date, the center has supported more than 100,000 families.
Recognized as a trusted leader in pregnancy and early childhood development, Gabriela is a frequent local and national speaker, and has been featured in The Houston Chronicle, ABC13, KPRC Channel 2, FOX 26, and other media. She is also the author of the memoir After the Fall, chronicling her journey from communist Czechoslovakia to building a purpose-driven life in the U.S.
Deeply committed to giving back, Gabriela serves on committees and boards of The Women’s Fund, Santa Maria Hostel, The Diaper Foundation, L.I.F.E. Houston, Crime Stoppers of Houston, American Heart Association, and Collaborative for Children. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys golf, reading, phone photography, traveling, and spending time with her husband and family.
At the core of Gabriela’s work is a simple belief: no mother should feel alone — and with the right support, every family can thrive.
Born in a small mountain village in Czechoslovakia, Gabriela earned degrees in Pediatric Nursing and Physical Therapy and worked in the Pediatric Emergency Room in Ostrava. She came to the U.S. as an au pair — a turning point that changed everything.
When her younger sister was born, four-year-old Gabriela proudly became “little mommy.” That early sense of nurturing grew into a lifelong calling. In 2000, she turned that dream into Motherhood Center — Houston’s most trusted resource for new families.
Gabriela saw parents navigating rapidly evolving medical information while longing for timeless wisdom. She built Motherhood Center as the place where those two needs meet — supporting families not just with answers, but with confidence.
Gabriela and Motherhood Center have been featured by The Houston Chronicle, The Houston Business Journal, 002 Magazine, The River Oaks Examiner, KTRK ABC 13, KPRC Channel 2 and FOX 26.
She is committed to philanthropy and is involved with several Houston charities including:
