Zero – that’s what most women with health insurance were expected to pay for certain preventive care starting this year under the Affordable Care Act. But health reform policy doesn’t always translate smoothly into reality – just ask women trying to get a “free” breast pump.  The law, also known as “Obamacare,” now requires insurance companies to fully cover particular services, supplies, and screenings without consumers providing a co-payment, co-insurance, or deductible. A list of women’s preventive services, one of the broadest parts of the law, includes breastfeeding supplies, support, and screenings.
