By purchasing The Holiday Shopping Card for a minimum contribution of $70, you will get a 20% discount on regularly priced merchandise at hundreds of stores in Houston and the surrounding area! Since The Holiday Shopping Card’s inception, the fundraiser has raised well over $10 million. Your participation in The Holiday Shopping Card will continue to help to raise money for cancer research and patient services in the greater Houston area.
American Cancer Society-Supporting an Excellent Cause
For nearly a century, the American Cancer Society has fought for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. Through the American Cancer Society’s extensive research and application of their findings to medicine and cancer treatment, they have contributed to a 15 percent decrease in the overall cancer death rate between the early 1990s and 2005. That means about 650,000 cancer deaths have been avoided, allowing the potential for more birthday celebrations. Overall, 11 million cancer survivors in America will celebrate a birthday this year.
Your purchase of a $70 Holiday Shopping Card may not seem like an enormous contribution, but when every Houstonian does their part, a significant amount of funding is provided for the American Cancer Society.
