by: Rachel McKenny You may have noticed a theme to my retail blogs. I love featuring products that make parenting easier! This week’s item is no exception. Breastflow bottles (made by First Years) are designed to encourage your baby to breastfeed longer. If you are a breastfeeding mom, you know that it can be a frustrating ordeal to introduce a bottle. Breastflow bottles are the perfect solution. When you breastfeed, your baby has to use suction and compression to access your milk. In other words, your baby is working for your milk! If you introduce a standard bottle to your baby, your little one will be able to gulp milk easily without much work. Standard bottles eliminate the challenge of suction and compression. This makes it much more difficult for your baby to go back to your breast after experiencing the easy flow from a standard bottle. A lot of bottles claim to simulate mom’s breast. It doesn’t really matter if the bottle’s nipple looks or feels like a real breast. The important thing is if the bottle feeds your baby like your breast. Breastflow bottles are the only nipples that achieve this. They have a unique 2 in 1 nipple design- this is especially beneficial to help prevent colic. The 2 in 1 nipple allows less air to help reduce discomfort for baby. Our lactation consultant recommends the Breastflow bottles and I’ve heard from so many moms who love the freedom it gives them. Moms can easily transition their babies between breast and bottle, which allows them to breastfeed baby for longer. The bottles are BPA free and latex free. The other thing I love about this product is the price! The bottles come in 5 oz and 9 oz. The singles are $6 or you can buy a three pack for $14.
