The Motherhood Center is the only prenatal yoga and fitness studio in Houston that provides a variety of classes for all stages of motherhood. Yoga is proven to reduce stress by lowering levels of cortisol in the body, boost immune function and levels of "feel good" chemicals in the brain and balance the body by reducing the body's level of inflammation.

Our classes are walk-in so you can enjoy a class when you are ready. If you are attending a class for the first time please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

The Bounce Back After Baby Fitness Series is a dynamic fitness series that focuses on the many body changes that come with pregnancy, childbirth, and having a new baby. With a focus on mindfulness and meditation, the class incorporates both yoga and pilates techniques in combination with breathing exercises to bring strength and recovery to the back, pelvic floor, and abdominal/core muscles.

During your pregnancy it’s important to set aside time for yourself. Prenatal yoga gives expecting moms the opportunity to relax, breathe, and connect with their baby. Our yoga classes will help you ease the discomforts of your pregnancy and help prepare your body for childbirth.

PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES

Prenatal Fitness/Pilates will engage your deepest core muscles, pelvic floor, hips and spine. You’ll develop muscle strength and memory that will help your body recover faster post-pregnancy. The class incorporates the use of light weights, large balls for seated poses, stretch bands, and some small weight balls.

Mom & Baby Yoga and Fitness class offers an opportunity for you to regain strength and flexibility, to bond with your baby, and to connect with other moms and dads. You’re encouraged to take a break at any time to nurture or feed your baby. Babies are encouraged to express themselves in their own way during class and no expectations are placed on the baby’s behavior. The class ends with gentle baby yoga and massage.

Yoga for Everybody

Our Flow Yoga class is a vinyasa-style practice where students transition (flow) from one posture to the next linking breath with movement. Designed to build core strength and overall flexibility while calming the nervous system with a continued emphasis on breathing and healthy alignment of the body and mind. Flow Yoga is great for those looking to get in shape (or back in shape) and find steadiness and serenity to counter stress and tension.

Our Gentle + Restorative class is a slow, methodical practice where students balance a hectic day with a calming evening exploration of the yin side of yoga. Designed to release stress, find relaxation, and improve mobility in the hips and joints, this class features slower and longer held postures and the use of props to help find stillness, steadiness, and serenity to counter the day’s stress and tension.

Private Yoga Classes are one on one sessions that will assist you in growing to the next level. Our experts will watch your form and correct as you go. Group private sessions can also be set up.
