Babysitting Service
The goal of our Babysitting service is to provide a safe, fun experience for your child while allowing you time to spend on all the things that become seemingly impossible after having a baby:
- Run Errands, Schedule Important Appointments (Doctors/Dentist)
- Catch up with friends over lunch (You’ll actually get to eat/talk!)
- Plan a date night, Stay out past 9pm! (Think of all the movies you could see)
- Get a Massage (We know what we’re talking about)
- Or if you have to…Finish all that work that’s been piling up
We accomplish that goal with a highly qualified staff and a service that is competitively priced and easy to use.
At The Motherhood Center we have a large staff of carefully selected, qualified, professional babysitters who are experienced in caring for children from newborn to school age. These women have been personally interviewed, thoroughly screened, and have multiple background checks completed. Each one is CPR certified, (most right here at our center) and at least 21 years of age.
Here’s How it Works
We’ve kept it simple; No registration. No monthly fee.
There is a four hour minimum booking time at a rate of $65. Any additional hours needed will be billed at $15/hour.
You will be billed by The Motherhood Center, so no payment needs to be made to your sitter unless it is a gratuity.
We'll always try to meet last minute needs, but thankfully, most bookings are made with three or more days notice and we will be happy to take your bookings two or three months in advance. The more notice you give us the better chance you have of booking your preferred babysitter. When you know you want to book a sitter you can do so by filling out our Babysitting Registration Form or calling our office at 713.963.8880.

*For added convenience you can save this as a file on your home computer and change only the necessary information each time you would like to book a sitter.
We then post the opportunity to all of The Motherhood Center babysitters who have passed our review process and are local to your home. Whenever possible your bookings will always be offered first to babysitters you have met before, but rest assured we will always connect you with an experienced and reliable babysitter. We always try to accommodate preferences you or your children may have regarding babysitters, but we think you’ll agree that it’s hard to choose a favorite.
As soon as we have arranged for a babysitter to attend we confirm with you to let you know who will be sitting and give you some information regarding their previous experience. A credit card is required to confirm your reservation of a sitter. The sitter you work with will then submit an invoice of hours worked and your card on file will be billed.
There are limits as to what we consider safe for your children and our sitters. Under usual circumstances if there are more than 2 children under three years of age or more than 4 children total a second babysitter is required.
Babysitting Ratios are 1:2 for infants and toddlers, 1:4 for children over 3
Many parents choose to use our service the first time they are away from their baby. If you’re very nervous about leaving your child for the first time we suggest that the you make plans close to home and arrange for the babysitter to arrive 15-20 minutes before you leave. You can then introduce her to your family and familiarize her with your home. Children are quick to feel at ease when they know you are comfortable inviting the sitter to participate in a special routine like reading a bedtime story or playing a favorite game.
The Motherhood Center also offers onsite babysitting service by request. For $10/hour, per child you can schedule a massage or start a regular yoga routine worry free! Please call the day before to let our front desk know to arrange a sitter.

There will be a $10 fee for requests that offer less than 24 hours notice.

After a sitter has been confirmed there will be a $25 fee for cancellations made the day a sitter is scheduled in your home.
