Prenatal Yoga

During your pregnancy it's important to set aside time for yourself.  Prenatal yoga gives expecting moms the opportunity to relax, breathe, and connect with their baby.  Our yoga classes will help you ease the discomforts of your pregnancy and help prepare your body for childbirth.

Practicing yoga with other pregnant women can be a great time to meet fellow moms and build friendships and a support system.  The relationships created in our classes can benefit you and your baby post delivery.  No experience in yoga is necessary!

*** What Our Instructors Are Saying....

Tara: My prenatal classes are a blend of alignment and flow to help address some of the common aches and pains of pregnancy. The class is both encouraging and invigorating. We keep an informal atmosphere to allow you to explore your body awareness and learn intuitively how to feel what is going on inside you.

Jaime:  I gently persuade students to challenge their mind, body and spirit through each pose.  I encourage acceptance and peace of their bodies and I encourage my students to experience the joy in each movement.

Marjie: My class is designed to help relieve some of the most commonly faced muscular problems encountered in pregnancy through a combination of muscle stretching and strengthening.  I also work on the mother's ability to utilize breathe while in labor and help her to connect with her child before delivery in a positive way that will promote bonding after delivery.

What is yoga? Yoga means "union" and is a practice that dates back 5,000 years to its homeland in India. Hatha Yoga is the most popular type of yoga in the United States today. Its focus is on the physical body rather than the spiritual by focusing on poses/postures (asanas), cleansing techniques (shodhana) and breath control (pranayama). Yoga calms the brain and nervous system, while improving the strength and flexibility of the body, which is why participants usually leave yoga class feeling centered, peaceful and energized.
