The Motherhood Center

Michelle began her journey to yoga when she was in her mother’s womb, working on lotus pose in utero. Gymnastics and dance became her favorite childhood activity, which blossomed into her career. Michelle started teaching various forms of dance at the age of 13, trained in a ballet company through high school, and danced in professional modern dance companies in and after college.  In 2003 Michelle received her personal training certification and began teaching group fitness classes and dance aerobics.  Inspired by the variety of benefits clients seemed to have from yoga, she dove in and began her practice in 2004.  Michelle's became Balletone (ballet fitness) and PiYo (pilates/yoga mix) certified, and trained in yoga with Hilary Nixon, Jennifer Beurgermeister, Joy Winkler, Jerry Lee Randall, Sean Tebor, Ma Nithya Daivi in kids yoga, and with Paramahamsa Nithyananda's in his Yoga Spurana program.  She has specialized training in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, Yoga for Kids, breath work, spiritual healing, varieties of energy work, acrobatic and partner yoga.  She is most recently inspired by the birth of her new baby boy, born in July 2009, which created a whole new passion for working with pregnant women, new moms and their babies.

For Michelle, it is her utmost joy and passion to aid in bringing peace to peoples’ lives. Stress conquers the human psyche and dulls human potential. To learn how to sharpen the mind not only can benefit the person mentally, but can also change the way people interact, and even the purpose of which one feels he or she is living for. She feels that the most serious endeavors are best approached with playfulness, that love is the greatest teacher, and that, really, ALL people are good at heart. The guidance Michelle receives in yoga, from within, is always of the most fulfilling; may it be for you, also!
