The Motherhood Center Guidelines & Policies

Thank you for registering and purchasing services with The Motherhood Center. We would like to ask you to review our guidelines and policies specific towards the service purchased. These policies are accommodating to our clients as well as fair to The Motherhood Center. Thank you for your understanding.

Education Classes: Pregnancy & Child Development

Registration & Cancellation Policies

Refunds:

Full refunds will only be given during the 48 hours after registration.
After 48 hours clients will be able to get a refund or store credit, minus a Cancellation/Switch fee.
The Motherhood Center does not recommend expecting clients to take prenatal classes during weeks 36-40 of pregnancy. The exception would be prenatal yoga. If one chooses to do so and gives birth early or cannot attend class for any other pregnancy-related reasons, The Motherhood Center will issue a center credit rather than a refund, pending written documentation from one’s health care provider.
Returned checks will incur a $25 processing fee. Re-payment must be received within 24 hours in order to hold a place in a class.

Cancellation/Switch Fees:

For classes $50 or more, the fee is $10.
For classes less than $50, the fee is $5.

Last Minute Cancellations & Switches:

After the 48 hours of initial registration, clients will need to pay the $5 or $10 Cancellation/Switch fee for each class they are switching.
Cancellations or switches that occur within 24 hours of the start of class, or after classes have begun will require a fee of 50% of the total cost of the class and will be eligible for center credit. No refunds will be given.
Exceptions may be made for medical reasons and will require a physician’s or midwife’s written documentation.
No shows will forfeit the cost of a class. No refund or store credit will be given.
In the case of inclement weather, travel may be inadvisable. Please call The Motherhood Center in advance of your class to determine if it has been postponed or cancelled.
If The Motherhood Center cancels a class due to inclement weather, we will make efforts to offer a make-up session. If this is not possible we will extend the remaining class sessions and shorten breaks; otherwise we will provide clients with a prorated class-only credit they can use toward another session or class.
If The Motherhood Center cancels a class for a reason other than weather, we will promptly contact client to schedule a make-up class. If client cannot attend the make-up session, we will provide client with an in-house credit or make other credit arrangements.

Yoga/Wellness Policies

No refunds or center credit will be given for unused yoga class passes.
Yoga passes do have expirations. 5 class pass expires 2 month from date of purchase, 10 class pass expires 4 months from date of purchase, and 20 class pass expires in 6 months from date of purchase.

Babysitting

There will be a $25 notification fee for services not requested 24 hours ahead of time.
There will be a $25 cancellation fee for babysitting cancelled less than 24 hours before client requested the babysitter.

Massage

We will provide a full refund if the cancellation or rescheduling occurred 24 hours prior to the appointment.
Less than 24 hours notice for cancellation will incur a fee of 50% of the original price. This charge includes cancellation or rescheduling.
If we do not receive any notice of your cancellation and you do not show up for your appointment, without notice we will charge full price.

Lactation Consultation

We will provide a full refund if the cancellation or rescheduling occurred 24 hours prior to the appointment.
Less than 24 hours notice for cancellation will incur a fee of 50% of the original price. This charge includes cancellation or rescheduling.
If we do not receive any notice of your cancellation and you do not show up for your appointment, without notice we will charge full price.

Photography

Cancellation of a photo shoot will result in the 50% deposit to be non-refundable.

Kid’s Birthday Parties

A non-refundable $150 deposit is required to secure your party.
The $150 deposit will be applied toward the cost of the party.
If you choose to cancel your birthday party request, the $150 deposit will be non-refundable.

Baby Nurse/Doula

Deposit and Cancellation Policy:

Client agrees to pay $__________ (30%) deposit on the total estimated fees $__________. Client acknowledges, in order to receive a full refund on Client’s deposit, Client must cancel in writing no less than 60 days before the projected due date. There will be no refund of deposit with cancellations less than 60 days before the projected due date.
Deposit does not apply to Baby Nurse Packages. When Baby Nurse Package is purchased, client must cancel in writing 60 days or more before projected due date in order to get a refund of 90% of the package chosen. If client cancels package in writing less than 60 days before projected due date, a refund of 70% of package chosen will be made. If client has utilized services included in package, such as Education classes, Yoga classes or Massage, the services will be deducted at full retail price from package before a refund is made.

Nanny Agency Placement

A one time search fee will be due at the time of hire and before any referral is made.
Referral fee will be due 10 days after invoice is received. The invoice is sent as soon as the client has notified The Motherhood Center that a nanny will be hired.

General Policies

No out of town checks
Returned checks will incur a $25 processing fee. Re-payment must be received within 24 hours in order to hold a place in a class.
Gift Certificates expire within one year of purchase. We honor the amount on the certificate if one chooses to change a specific service designated on the gift card.
